How to search the archive, what the searchability labels mean, and why some scanned documents aren't fully searchable yet.
What is COGOP Archives?
COGOP Archives is the official digital historical library of the Church of God of Prophecy. It brings together assembly minutes, policy statements, books, magazines, and correspondence in one searchable place, spanning more than a century of church history. Documents are available in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, and Russian.
How to search
Use the search bar to look for a word, phrase, or topic. Each result shows a short excerpt with your search term highlighted, so you can see the context before opening the full document.
Using filters
The filters panel on the search page narrows results by document type, language, year, and category. Select one or more checkboxes — the count next to each option shows how many documents match.
Searchability labels
Every document carries a label that tells you whether its content can be found by a word search, separate from its title.
The full text has been extracted and indexed — searching for any word inside it will find this document.
This document only exists as a scanned image so far. You can still open and read its pages, but a word search inside it won't find it yet.
Opening and downloading PDFs
Every document page includes a viewer with the original pages alongside any extracted text. Select Open original PDF at any time to open the complete original file in a new tab.
Why some scanned documents aren't searchable yet
Many records here were typed or printed decades before digital text existed, then later digitized as scanned images. Turning a scan into searchable text requires optical character recognition (OCR), a process our team is steadily applying across the archive.
